Tata Motors has unvieled its latest electric vehicle – the updated Tata Tigor EV with Ziptron technology. Today, Tata Motors provided a look at its latest EV that aims to further strengthen the company’s hold over the country’s ev segment, and is set to become India’s most affordable EV.

Powertrain and Charging

Tata Tigor EV is powered with company’s Ziptron technology which powers the high-voltage 300+ volt permanent magnet synchronous electric motor. The battery and the motor of the car have been covered with an eight-year or 1,60,000-kilometre warranty. This car has seen some noticeable upgrades like a new motor that helps produce 75 hp and 170 Nm of torque, while the new Ziptron technology also makes the car’s battery charge faster and can charge from 0 to 80 per cent in an hour. Other features like a height-adjustable driver’s seat, power-folding ORVMs, a 7.0-inch Harman touchscreen infotainment system, four speakers and four tweeters, push-button start and a new iRA connected car suite with over 30 connected car functions have been added to the car. Exterior

The Tata Tigor EV comes with new glossy black panel in place of the traditional grille, with an electric blue accent underlining the entire setup. The Tigor EV also gets blue highlights inside the headlamps and on the 15-inch alloy wheels, which also feature a new design.

Interior

In terms of Interior the Tata Tigor EV Ziptron will feature automatic climate control and a portable charging cable as standard, and will also get a height-adjustable driver’s seat, power-folding ORVMs, a 7.0-inch Harman touchscreen infotainment system with four speakers and four tweeters, push-button start as well as the iRA connected car suite with over 30 connected car functions. Boot space is rated at 316 litres, which goes up to 375 litres if a buyer chooses to remove the spare wheel.

Expected Price Range

Tata Tigor EV is likely to undercut the Tata Nexon EV on price, which currently is priced from Rs 14 lakh to Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom), by a substantial margin.

Variants

Tigor EV will come with three variants XM,XZ+ and XZ+DT with TEAL BLUE colour option.
